Skin delamination of a polyurethane insole
Description:
If insoles are difficult to demould, detachment of the surface can be the result.
Affected Foam Parts:
Affected are shoe insoles.
What causes it:
Such skin peeling is often caused by the release agent – if it has too little slip, or is applied improperly, demoulding the insole becomes a challenge. In addition, the wrong processing parameters, the wrong mould temperature, contamination in the mixing head or poor mixing of the PU system can lead to skin delamination.
- Not enough slip of mould release
- Improper application of mould release
- Improper PU processing parameter
- Contamination in mixing head
- Improper mixing of polyurethane foam system
- Improper mould temperature
Solutions:
Adjusting the amount of release agent and the atomization pressure often helps to avoid skin delamination. The choice of a release agent with stronger slip properties can also avoid skin peeling. Furthermore, checking the processing parameters and the mould temperature can eliminate sources of error.
- Adjust the amount of sprayed Release Agent and/or atomization pressure
- Choose mould release with more slip
- Check PU processing parameters
- Check mould temperature
